PRSA Silicon Valley Announces Media Predicts 2022

The communications industry’s most popular pre-holiday event is returning in person for the first time in three years on December 6th at the San Mateo Marriott.

PRSA Silicon Valley is excited to announce Media Predicts 2022, an evening celebrating the diverse PR professionals and media working across various industries, including tech, venture capital, finance, education, and more. We are returning to the San Mateo Marriott on Tuesday, December 6th, beginning the night with a network happy hour, followed by dinner and a panel with media who spearheaded this year’s top stories.

To kick off our first year back, we’re sitting down with a panel of high-profile journalists from Bloomberg, Forbes, Protocol, San Francisco Business Times, and The Information as they reflect on the trends they’ve seen in 2022 and share their insightful predictions for the new year.

“We are committed to empowering the diverse communications professionals in the Silicon Valley as they advance the art of public relations in their respective industries,” said Vanessa Yanez, president of PRSA SV and vice president of public relations, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. “Our annual gala is just another avenue in which we hope to cultivate and support this talented, creative community.”

This year’s lineup of speakers includes reporters on the forefront of venture capital, technology and innovation: Martine Paris, U.S. Consumer Reporter at Bloomberg; Kenrick Cai, Senior Reporter, Technology at Forbes; Erin Woo, Reporter, Startups and Venture Capital at The Information; Biz Carson, Senior Reporter at Protocol; Sara Bloomberg, Reporter, Startups and Innovation at SF Business Times; and moderated by Vanessa Yanez, VP of Public Relations, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

These dynamic speakers will dive into the year’s hottest stories, inviting us into their process of amplifying the stories that impacted us all. From deals that shaped the technology markets to consumer news that influenced the year’s trends, all in attendance will leave inspired with new ways to tell their stories.

“As communications professionals, we’ve all had to stretch our creative muscles these past few years to nurture relationships and spark conversations solely through digital mediums,” said Meghan Fintland, PRSA Silicon Valley president-elect and senior director, external communications, Zelle and Early Warning. “It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to gather together in person. Now we are armed with fresh insights and new ideas as we walk into 2023, and who better to celebrate with than a supportive community of passionate communications professionals?”
